October flew by, I think due in part to participating in the whirlwind that is Inktober! If you aren’t familiar with Inktober, it’s an art challenge developed by Jake Parker where artists around the globe participate by creating one ink drawing a day during the month of October. Participants then post their artwork on social media using #inktober. One drawing a day doesn’t sound too hard, but it becomes challenging to keep up!
I’m delighted to say that 2017 is the first year I’ve successfully completed the Inktober challenge! Here are all 31 drawings:
And here are a couple of my favorites:
Check out my Instagram or Twitter pages to see all 31 days. In the meantime, I’m designing a book of all 31 drawings, which will be available soon!
I’m not sure if this is cheating, but I’m trying to combine some of my current projects with my daily Inktober work. So, the pages below were created over the course of a couple days, not in one sitting. Is that a requirement? I don’t know. But I am drawing and inking (digitally and/or analog…ly) every day and posting updates (not always here, but on Twitter). And that’s the point, right?
Without further ado – here’s the opening spread of Cognito Sanchez: Dive Another Day.
I’m excited to participate in Inktober this year! I won’t usually be doing full color, but I needed to draw this for a separate project, so… two birds, one stone (no pun intended!). I inked and colored this in Photoshop.
Here’s a rare Polaroid of Cognito Sanchez (from the Squirrel Intelligence Agency) trying to keep a low profile out in the field. He’s actually not doing too bad. 🙂
